Finally, 2015 is coming to a close and the drama of the video game industry has settled down. In the penultimate episode of 2015, Marty, Brian, Alanah, Zach, and Goldengoose dig deep into the mailbag and answer literally every single question you've ever asked. Well, that's a lie. But they do talk about what they're playing over break, why Bully was rad, dinosaurs, why Altano is terrified of Australia, PaRappa VR, why no one should sleep on Until Dawn, the most disappointing Christmas presents ever, and a whole bunch of other dumb stuff. We love you. Beyond!

Fallout. Fallout never changes. Except when it does, like when a new game gets released. But did enough change? Join Max, Brian, Marty, and Jared as they discuss one of the most anticipated games of the generation. BUT BEWARE, DEAR LISTENERS: some of these individuals have opinions about this video game that might *gasp!* differ from yours. Beyond that, Rise of the Tomb Raider is apparently awesome. The ball is officially in Naughty Dog's court to blow us away with Uncharted 4, but what will that take? |
Wed, 4 November 2015
It seems to be the eye of the review season hurricane, but luckily Max, Marty, Brian, and Goldschläger are full of energy and ready to talk about our PSX expectations, how well the first Uncharted has aged, breaking controllers, and that gaming is a really expensive hobby. |

An official comment from Sony puts another nail in the Vita's metaphorical coffin, so we reflect on what the little system did right, what it did wrong, and what approaches might've worked better. Beyond that we also discuss the last-gen Uncharted Trilogy's flying leap onto PS4 with The Nathan Drake collection, Max's love for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Black Ops III's tone-deaf Twitter publicity stunt. Podcast Beyond is Max Scoville, Marty Sliva, Brian Altano, and Andrew Goldfarb. |

Marty's off doing some covert ops, so we invited Vince on to share some SPOILER-FREE war stories from his time reviewing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. We touched on a few other topics, but for the most part, this is episode is solid Metal Gear. |
Tue, 18 August 2015

In the thrilling followup to the previous three hundred and ninety-nine episodes of Podcast Beyond, we had a big, huge live event which a whole bunch of you were kind enough to attend. The regular bunch of goons (Max, Marty, Brian, Jared and Goldfarb) are joined by Beyond 300 attendee-turned-IGN-editor Miranda Sanchez as well as a young up-and-coming video game personality named Greg Miller. In case it doesn't come across in the audio, none of what we do would be possible without you guys, our listeners and readers, so once again, thank you all so much for sticking around. We had an absolute blast on Saturday, and hopefully we'll wind up doing more IRL meet-ups before Podcast Beyond 500 rolls around. |

Ladies and gentlemen, as I'm sure you're all well aware, the bulk of IGN was extremely busy covering E3 down in Los Angeles. A regular episode of Beyond wasn't possible, so we did the next best thing: we brought microphones to a bar and recorded over three and a half hours of totally unscripted, fairly intoxicated conversation with a cross-section of people from the video game industry. Disclaimer: This episode was very much an experiment, and the results are rough around the edges; it's noisy, disorganized, at times fairly incoherent -- but it's also about as close as you're gonna get to actually being right there with us. In no particular order, here are the people who were kind enough (or drunk enough) to join us for this massive episode of Beyond:
Also, a huge, very special thanks to the extremely tolerant wait staff at The Hotel Figueroa, especially the waitress who gave me a wet willy while we were recording. That was very strange, but oddly flattering? In any case, we'll have a "regular" episode going up later this week for those of you who hate fun.

Tue, 9 June 2015
We're a week away from E3, so please excuse us sounding a bit more scatterbrained than usual. This time, Max, Marty, Brian, and Goldfarb discuss Metal Gear Solid 5, Fallout 4, Dark Souls 3, and... horses? Sure, why not. Also, if you didn't hear about it, tickets are up for our live event the IGN House Party! Gotta go fast, they're selling like... uh... popular video games! |
Tue, 2 June 2015
Brian's back from his Honeymoon, and is joined by Marty, Jared, and Goldfarb (Max is out sick with gross problems) to discuss the big question on the Sony front right now: what's up with the PS Vita being decalred a "legacy" device? Will there no longer be support, or is this just a weird corporate miscommunication?? |

|
Tue, 19 May 2015
Marty and Brian have abandoned us this week, so instead Max is joined by Jared, mustachioed IGN bigwig Tal, and -- surprise surprise -- Andrew Goldfarb. The big topics this week are Doom's two-frame teaser trailer, Ubisoft's mea culpa for Assassin's Creed Unity while announcing Syndicate, and the difference between working in games press and game development and/or publishing. |
Thu, 14 May 2015
Sorry for the late episode, gang! If you missed it, this week we tried somethng new: recording Podcast Beyond LIVE. Like, on a livestream. In honor of this special occasion, and because it's right around the corner, we decided to discuss our favorite E3 moments and our predictions for what Sony will show off this year. |

This week, we're short a chair, so it's just Max, Marty and Brian. Max and Brian spent the weekend at Star Wars Celebration, where they got to see Battlefront in action. Tue, 14 April 2015
This week, Max, Marty, and Brian are joined by Eden Rohatensky of the Jimmy & Eden podcast (among other things) to discuss their favorite game soundtracks, the use of comedy in games, and the possibility of the first three Uncharted games remastered on Playstation 4. |
Tue, 7 April 2015
Marty, Max, and Brian are joined by Mitch Dyer, who was flown halfway across the planet to go play one of the most anticipated games of this generation: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. So, uh, is it cool? Meanwhile, Star Wars: Battlefront is something we're going to see very soon, and we take a moment to reflect upon why we play games. |
Tue, 31 March 2015
This week, Max, Marty, and Brian are joined once again by the lovable and eloquent Jared Petty, who regales us with stories from working at the ol' sock mill. Tue, 24 March 2015
Finally, Bloodborne is here! Max, Marty, Brian, and special guest Mitch Dyer chew the fat about From Software's latest control-throwingly difficult offering, and discuss what makes their games so satisfying in this age of dumbed-down casual "experiences." |
Tue, 17 March 2015
The ever-delightful Jared Petty joins Max, Marty, and Brian once again to discuss Uncharted 4's delay, and to answer some listener emails on the subjects of game-ruining bugs and morally reprehensible actions in virtual worlds. Plus, we have a very special all-terrain missile-launching guest star. If you need something else to put in your ears besides our lovely voices, Jared asked you guys on Twitter what your favorite game music was, and a listener named Kevin compiled a playlist of everyone's responses. Give it a whirl right here. |
Tue, 10 March 2015

This week, Max and Marty are joined by Brian Altano and Mitch Dyer to talk about 2015 preditions, Yetis, and Batman's M-rating and the legend of Sleep Jeep - but wait, there's more: Caleb Lawson and Zach Ryan also stop by to discuss their visit to Japan to see Bloodborne. |
Tue, 24 February 2015
The Order: 1886 came out last week, and in spite of a luke-warm critical reception, it's still got plenty of redeeming qualities. Brandin Tyrrel, who reviewed the game for IGN, joins Max, Marty, and Brian to talk about what we would want from the game's probable sequel. Other topics include Axiom Verge, the PS Vita's third birthday, and haunted pyramids. |
